My web3 qualifications / skills: I am a professional project manager with an excellent background in marketing and web3. Every day I learn something new and as an ENS delegator I could easily fulfill my potential 100%.

ENS name: collinpixley.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: Since my very first on-chain interaction with Ethereum I knew the address form would hinder later adoption and cause mistakes for beginners. When I learned about ENS I knew this could be one step in the right direction toward solving for that hurdle. After onboarding many to Ethereum, I have always suggested registering an ENS for ease of use and a beginner lesson to interacting with smart contracts. I am very excited to be able to represent those in the community who agree with my views on ENS as a blockchain public good and great onboarding tool.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: Agree
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree

My web3 qualifications / skills:
Iā€™m involved in varying degrees for several projects such as The Graph, Instadapp, Rabbithole, and Gitcoin. I work for an advisory and investment firm with a focus on blockchain technology and more often than not, Ethereum. Iā€™ve onboarded hundreds of people to the space over the last several years and will continue to do so. I educate and help people find/create value using the blockchain.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: With over 150k wallets holding and using ENS Domains it is important to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of ENS and ensure that the ENS community grows as adoption of crypto increases. As someone thinking about consumer crypto apps and the opportunity to onboard millions of users into crypto, I believe I can represent the ENS community and be a strong advocate for their interests.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree
It is important for users to have control over the usage and ownership of their web3 identity without the interference of a third-party entity.
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: Agree
Registration fees enable the ENS Domain ecosystem to be sustainable while disincentivizing speculative purchases of ENS Domains.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree
As adoption of ENS increases, it is important for the protocol to be functional. Income from Registration fees should go towards maintaining and developing the protocol to stay up-to-date with advances in this space.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree
It is important to integrate with existing systems and ensure interoperability in order to increase adoption of ENS Domains.
    My web3 qualifications/skills:
  • I currently work at SuperLayer Labs, a crypto venture studio that is part of the RLY Network. The goal for SuperLayer is to launch Consumer Crypto Applications that make it easy to onboard the next 100m people into crypto.
  • Previously: Community Ambassador at Rally helping creators (that are brand new to crypto) launch Social Tokens and take advantage of the opportunities that web3 opens up.
  • Pathfinder, Rabbithole.gg: Helping write guides (like this) as a member of the RabbitHole DAO that help users complete their ā€œLearn-to-Earnā€ quests.
  • Kernel Block II Fellow

ENS name: skymoore.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I want to help build the decentralized world. To leave the world better than I found it. To assist in protecting the free and open internet. To help advance society.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree - Except where the name is used to profit from or proliferate human rights abuses, human trafficking, slavery, child pornography, or abuse of animals.

  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: Agree - Especially in favor of preventing speculative registration of names.

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree - However I believe we should take steps to eventually replace legacy DNS altogether.

My web3 qualifications / skills: I am a 31 year old Cum Laude Computer Engineering Graduate from the University of Houston. I have worked on satellite controlled drones for Boeing. I have built cloud infrastructure for Amazon, Regeneron, Twitch, CBS, among others. Iā€™ve been involved in the crypto space since 2015, but I quit working for companies and have been investing in crypto full time for about 3 months now. Iā€™m studying Solidity and other blockchain technologies. I am also studying the legal framework of the formation of trusts. Trusts are in my opinion the legal and historical precident for the DAO. I would love to contribute to the ENS DAO with my techical skills and knowledge, legal knowledge, sound judgment, and love for crypto and a decentralized open world. Thank you for your time.

ENS name: mihal.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

Iā€™ve been a strong supporter of ENS for years, and built multiple applications using ENS in unique ways. One example is the Burner Wallet, which not only resolves ENS names, but actually had a plugin allowing users to register temporary ā€œburnableā€ ENS subdomains. I also built DeFi777, an application that uses ENS names and ERC777 tokens to simplify DeFi actions.

I believe my experience as a developer and experience developing on top of ENS will be relevant to the governance process. Iā€™m particularly interested in guiding ENSā€™s efforts to make domain names more accessable on L2.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

Enforcing a social contract of non-interference with the ownership of ENS names is the only way to deter influence of nation states and other large actors.

  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

Agreed

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

I believe ENS income should primarily fund ENS and ENS-related projects.

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

ENS name: ceresstation.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

I believe that the true potential of web3 is to completely change how we fund public infrastructure. On the internet, identities are one key piece of that infrastructure. As Alisha recently noted, itā€™s hard to imagine having to type in an IP address every time we want to visit a website for information, and weā€™ll soon feel the same way about how we use addresses to transfer value.

Most importantly, itā€™s very possible for us to still end up in a world where these critical functions in the metaverse are owned by existing web2 monoliths like Facebook. Ultimately, thatā€™s a major issue for anyone that believes they should have more control over the next phase of the web, and more interoperability between the services that they use.

By becoming a delegate of the ENS ecosystem, I can help push forward not just the ENS ecosystem but the public goods space on the whole as Iā€™ve done through my work as a co-founder of Gitcoin and as a participant in a number of other related organizations in the past, such as the Digital Public Goods Alliance and Ethereum Foundation Grants.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

I think absolute ownership is a fundamental prerequisite to an open, community owned web.

  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

Fees are not always bad, fees can help keep organizations sustainable, and ultimately can be used to help make sure users act in good faith, and donā€™t attack the system without consequence.

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)**

Fees are also good because itā€™s possible to use them to sustain ENS itself and the ecosystem on the whole. Thereā€™s a huge amount of potential in web3 for public goods to govern themselves, but perhaps even more potential to allow them to sustain themselves.

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

We canā€™t repeat the mistakes of web2 and create walled gardens, we have to be part of the larger ecosystem and that includes leveraging existing well-adopted systems.

My web3 qualifications / skills:

  • Actively participated in the Ethereum ecosystem since 2016 (and surprisingly, started a DAO project back then as well)
  • Co-founded Gitcoin which has funded over $40m in public infrastructure to date
  • Helped push forward one of the first Digital Public Goods Alliance communities of practice
  • Served as a committee member in a variety of community grants programs including Ethereum Foundation Grants
  • Advised a number of new web3 public goods related projects to help further my broader beliefs about how the ecosystem should evolve

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: Iā€™m passionate about crypto. Iā€™ve been in the space for many years and I want to be on top of the next trends. Iā€™m very bullish on Ethereum being the de facto web3 blockchain and obviously ENS will control the domain infrastructure. I feel like Iā€™m uniquely position because I understand web3 technology more than the average user and have implemented RFC specs on the engineering side. I have a strong background in software engineering.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Disagree. I think we would explore a better name ownership and revenue model that is fair to all parties. I donā€™t think being a first mover should give you absolute rights.

Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Agree. ENS is a SaaS product and typically reoccurring revenue has been proven to be a successful model for SaaS product. I am opened to exploring additional incentives.

Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment).

Agree. Although I could be convinced private entities could be worth pursuing if itā€™s highly beneficial for ENS.

ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment):
Agree. This would be awesome for everyone involved with this project.

  • Previously a routing and signaling cloud software engineer at Cisco.
  • Previously a software engineer at a Bitcoin exchange, Kraken.
  • Previously at a crypto hedge fund working in prop trading.
  • Currently working on a defi protocol on Ethereum using solidity and other web3 technologies. I understand solidity, familiar with the popular EIPs ad Ethereumā€™s history, and understand how protocols work across the blockchain.
  • Iā€™m very adept with defi products and trading.

ENS name: whoismoses.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: Decentralization and crypto has changed my life for the better and I want to help move the world to be a much more decentralized place.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** - Agreed. However there are fees for the renewal of name. One might not be able to pay them in the future. If this is an ā€œabsolute rightā€ renewal fees should be optional. ENS should find ways to incentivize payments through new services or just take a tiny fee as part of record updates. For example changing 0.01 or 0.001 for ENS record changes. As the web3 world will be using ENS as an account not just an identifier their ENS name becomes their identity. No one has the right to take that away. If the ENS foundation was at risk of failing due to funding, it would be in the best interest of ENS name owners to donate to keep their names safe.
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** - Agreed, some friction makes every process better.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** - Agreed, product roadmap and value add services are important to the continued life of the ENS foundation. Proper management of funds and proper product management are required.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Disagree. Legacy DNS names are just another way that people can be controlled as the management of them is centralized and those assets can be seized by governments. If the governance team chooses to continue legacy DNS integration that is fine, I donā€™t think it should be an immutable tenant of the ENS foundation.

My web3 qualifications / skills:

  • The number one qualification I have is I am a believer in decentralized control will eventually bring true freedom to all humans. Centralized control is a great threat and has been all along. We know have the technology to enable decentralized systems, organization, and currencies.
  • Iā€™ve been in the cryptocurrency space as an investor, node operator, and miner since 2015. It has changed my life for the better is so many ways. I must continue to give back.
  • I believe ENS critically important. So important that I have registered the ENS names for my son, wife, business (each of them), me, my online handles.
  • I am one of the founders of a DAO that has not launched yet, built on Ethereum. Though I am a founder, once governance starts, Iā€™ll be just one of the token holders. It is a leaderless organization.
  • I am a Software Engineer
  • I own a decent amount of digital art that is special because it is mine and no one can take it away from me.
  • I know I already said this, but personal freedoms are very important to me and someoneā€™s identity is at the top of that list. I want ENS to be successful and I am willing to be more than just an active participant.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate
Personal Identity is a fundamental human right. In the digital world, our personal identity will be our web3 identity. It is critical that the technology underpinning personal identity on the Internet is governed through fair, open, transparent principles.

I believe I possess those principles and the perspective to make, execute, and champion good, thoughtful decisions for the future of ENS. In my free time, I have written about ENS on social media many times. I was one of the first people on Twitter to make my name my ENS domain.

I have the time to engage with the DAO, thoughtfully research and question proposals, and vote with both intent and forethought.

My view on each section of the Proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right

Strongly Agree.

Personal Identity is a human right. All human beings should have the inalienable right to choose their name. No individual or entity should be able to restrict anotherā€™s ability to choose their name in the digital namespace.

In the case of exceptional and unpredictable scenarios which I presume to be malicious or harmful to ENS or humanity, I will reflect on history and philosophy to guide my choice.

  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism

Strongly Agree.

Registration fees and expiration are critical to the mechanics of ENS. Registration fees disincentivize squatting by putting recurring capital risk on domain holders. Expiration allows people to claim names which are abandoned.

Anecdotally, my preferred username on Twitter, Xbox, and Instagram are all squatted by abandoned accounts with no activity. At scale, this is a loss of human value by preventing humans from expressing their identity how they prefer.

I am a mathematician and can analyze the pricing and incentives based on a goal framework. The primary concern to consider is ensuring personal identity is not restricted by capital burden in developing communities, while balancing for squatting, first-mover advantages, and other downsides.

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods

Strongly Agree.

ENS is a public good and all funds should go towards development of ENS or ENS-aligned projects.

Funds should first go to ENS. When there are additional funds, they may be used to fund other public goods.

I am weary but open to ideas around a treasury which utilizes DeFi tooling to generate yield. While it feels sketchy and risky today, the rapid experimentation in web3 will likely surface better ideas than simple holding.

  • ENS integrates with the global namespace

Strongly Agree.

This feels particularly obvious. The global namespace shall include ENS and ENS shall integrate with it.

My web3 qualifications / skills

  • Experienced crypto Investor, passionately involved since 2013.
  • Work in web3 full-time as independent polymath
  • Mathematician and Computer Scientist. Intense self-study in Economics.
  • Tens of thousands of pro-crypto social media comments over last 8 years.
  • Onboarded all my friends, family, and even a coworker who became a core dev. Lost count of how many.
  • Creator @ethburnbot on Twitter
  • Developer for 12 years
  • Solidity/web3/JS full stack
  • Five years in Big Tech, two years at Seed->B startup as Employee #2 / Principal Engineer
  • Bachelors of Science in Honors Mathematics and Computer Science (double major)

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
I have a decent amount of experience in identity and crypto and I believe I can help positively shape the future of ENS. Iā€™m also a long time user of ENS; Iā€™ve owned and used domains since when it first launched. Iā€™ve been working in the identity space for 7 years (between Microsoft and Celo Labs) and working on web3 for 5 years. I currently lead the Identity team at Celo Labs.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** Agree. No tyranny of the majority.
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** Agree. For lack of fairer method, fees are a decent solution.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** Agree.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree.

My web3 qualifications / skills:

  • Worked on Ethereum tech on the Microsoft Blockchain team for 3 years
  • Lead Identity engineer at Celo Labs

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I believe in the decentralized web, but a big chunk of the crypto space is invested in centralized solutions. Weā€™ve been there, done that, and look where it got usā€”single points of failure, invisible governance, etc. This is not the crypto ecosystem I want to be a part of or support.

However, ENS proposes a new way of viewing identity on the Internet, and is so much more than just a domain-name service. The current iteration has only scratched the surface of whatā€™s possible. Iā€™d like to see further integrations with web3 projects involving account identity and authentication. There are so many cool things to be done!

I am a very good listener, a careful decision-maker, and have been in leadership positions throughout my career. But most of all I just really want to be a part of the revolution.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: Agree, with comment
    • The constitution holds that a secondary goal of fees is ā€œto provide enough revenue to the DAO to fund ongoing development and improvement of ENSā€. Itā€™s important to clarify what ā€œenough revenueā€ means, here. Specifically, if the DAO attains a certain low-water mark of revenue, should certain fees no longer taken? Perhaps this is something the DAO decides on later.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree, with comment
    • Similar to the thoughts on Section II; I wonder how soon the DAO would need to consider how quickly spending occurs. Does the DAO hold onto funds until the perfect candidate for funding or investment emerges? Or are investments made at a constant cadence? A mix? Just food for thought.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree
  • Amendments to this constitution: Comment
    • I know this wasnā€™t prompted, but I do I have a few comments. Is 5% a common value for DAO token participation? Basically, do I read correctly that amendments could ostensibly be passed with only 3.34% of tokens in favor of a proposal?

My web3 qualifications / skills: Iā€™ve been using Bitcoin since 2011 and more recently sold most of it and went all in on Ethereum. Iā€™m a professional software engineer (full-stack, more or less) and have been for over a decade. I work mostly with TypeScript, Python, Go, and maintain a few iOS apps as well (Swift/Objective-C). I recently picked up Solidity through the CryptoZombies course. Iā€™ve deployed a few solidity contracts on mainnet (nothing major, just for fun). I also run an Eth2 validator. Yay merge!

I also happen to be participating in Uniswapā€™s Hackathon this week; my project actually integrates with ENS, believe it or not!

Ultimately, Iā€™m not the most experienced web3 hacker, but Iā€™m a quick learner and have been building early-stage projects on the web for over a decade. I donā€™t plan to stop learning now

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

ā€œIntelligence is not a privilege, itā€™s a gift. And you use it for the good of mankind.ā€ - someone wiser than I

Beyond being a technically curious person with relevant experience, the reason I want to be further involved with ENS is its potential to be one of many crypto projects that help bridge the gap between the developed and developing world.

While am American, I have worked on development projects in Africa and South America (I speak spanish as well) in addition to my day job since I was an engineering student. As a black American, Iā€™m also acutely aware of what the lives of the economicly marginalized within my own country look like. It is the economically marginalized who have the most to gain from open, permissionless, and community owned protocols/apps that are the promise of smart contract blockchains.

We canā€™t just build the technology and hope they come. The decisions that are made now at the protocol level need to be made in such a way that maximizes developers ability to leverage the protocol for consumer applications. Just like people never learned how DNS works while using web 2.0, the masses are likely never going to understand the intricacies of ENS. Instead we need to create a system with a robust set of incentives that protect the community from bad actors.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** Agree that every individual (human person not legal person) should have the opportunity and sufficient access to leverage ENS. However
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** 100% agreed. I believe it is appropriate to apply a permutation of the land value tax to ENS which would disincentivize rent seeking behavior. Everyone should be able to afford an (meaning one) ENS name, but pricing should be controlled to disuade speculators.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)** 100% agreed. Income should be sufficient to cover associated costs to ensure sustainability.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) I believe ENS will be the global namespace within a few decades.

My web3 qualifications / skills: I have basic web3/solidity skills. Iā€™m more familiar with the algorand ecosystem from a development perspective. However I am also a software developer and data scientist by trade and have experience with a number of programming languags, databases, and machine learning frameworks.
