TL;DR ENS has the opportunity to be a key component of our new global identity infrastructure, I believe in the efforts core values, and I want to lend my expertise in shaping the protocolās future. If youād like to support me, please RT my announcement tweet.
Iāve been thinking about identity and crypto when I dropped out of college in 2013 to build Clef, a passwordless two-factor authentication product that doubled as a native identity system. We started out by working with WordPress products, but pretty quickly realized that some of the folks who needed usable, secure identity most were crypto companies. That led to us expanding our product offering (by decentralizing the key storage and management to our partners) and working with some of the biggest crypto exchanges at the time to do their login.
When that business didnāt work, I joined Coinbase, partly because I loved crypto and partly because I believed the company had a huge opportunity with identity. In 2017, I wrote:
āAt Coinbase, weāre building the open financial system for the world. On top of this system, I believe we have the opportunity to build the next widely-accepted identity platformāand leveraging the cryptographic properties of digital currency, I think we can do it in a decentralized manner.ā
Reflecting back on my perspective on Coinbaseās opportunity, I now realize that Ethereum is the open financial system and the opportunity to build the next widely-accepted identity platform lies with ENS. And, while I remain excited and engaged by my work at Coinbase, Iām equally inspired to continue pushing my lifelong pursuit of a decentralized identity platform forward.
Beyond just the opportunity, Iāve also been deeply inspired by ENSās approach over the last three years. The protocol has moved deliberately, prioritized decentralization, and worked to create āgood vibesā for the whole community. I share these observed values and Iād like to lend my expertise (more below) to help ENS succeed over the next many decades.

== My web3 qualifications / skills ==
I spent the last 4.5 years building all of the consumer-facing teams and products at Coinbase (Coinbase, Coinbase Wallet, Coinbase Pro). Starting in the middle of this year, I shifted out of that role to focus on DAOs and governance full time. Iām now working on two DAOs oriented around supporting public goods while supporting DAO and decentralization efforts internally at Coinbase.
At Coinbase, I led major strategic technical initiatives (e.g. replatforming our entire mobile stack to React Native) as well as significant organizational growth (i.e. grew the team from 3 ā 150). I have a technical background, comfort with web3 programming (though not expert), and experience operating in governance discussions. I also have a significant amount of people management and organizational strategy experience and enjoy coaching, supporting, and growing humans more than anything else. I believe that this combination of deep technical background and broad people skills will be a strong addition to the ENS delegate group.
