ENS DAO Delegate Applications

New delegates, remember that posting in this forum is only the first step of three.
There are two additional steps necessary.
Read the first post and happy airdrop tomorrow!

ENS name:
dancube.eth

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment) - Agree

**I have experience launching a Japanese hosting provider and am very familiar with web2. I am very excited to meet Web3 now and am eager to participate in this underlying project…

ENS name: samyap.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
I’m on a missing to bridge the knowledge gap between emerging web3 tech and the mainstream world. I believe that if DAOs are going to impact the real world, they will need members from diverse perspectives including non-technical people. From my non-technical knowledge perspective, I believe the ENS team have been truly crypto native in their approach to building the go-to domain service for Ethereum and want to be a part of what they are doing as well as help them communicate their mission to the world.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution :

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: Agree
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: Agree
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree

My web3 qualifications / skills: I am a crypto PR specialist and storyteller. Launched YAP DAO services DAO focused on helping translate crypto and DeFi for the world. I have helped crypto teams communicate their complex projects to the media for 4 years to date. I hope to help ENS do the same.

ENS name: Zadok7.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

For me, ENS was my entry point into the decentralized web, and in fact the first reason I got my first wallet. I saw the potential right away of ENS, and began to explore what was possible. I was impressed with what I found behind the technology, the core motivation, its core team, and the community. I would love to be part of ENS DAO to further along its mission and adoption. I am not ashamed to say it would be my first DAO. I am eager to learn and contribute. It’s an opportunity that I would take very seriously.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution:

  1. Name ownership shall not be infringed: (Agree/Disagree/ Comment )

If I were to vote on this today, I might have issue with the words “ or unfairly discriminate against owners” . Because I think words are important, so there can be the least amount of ambiguity involved in the decisions. Using the words “ unfairly discriminate” could be confusing to some. Is there a time to “fairly” discriminate against ens ownership?

Maybe it would be better as: “or unfairly discriminate against any name owners’ ability to…”

  1. Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)

This was a good design by ENS. We want ENS for the world, and would have free ENS names for anyone and everyone if that were possible. A small registration cost was smart to prohibit abuses by mass name registration. I believe ENS is for the public good, and fees keep that possible and viable.

  1. Income funds ENS and other public goods: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)

I love the ENS community, and how helpful they’ve been. Even the folks responsible in the core ENS team have reached out to me in response to questions and even advice. I was surprised by that, as I’m pretty much a nobody in the space. This kind of spirit is one of the reasons I believe ENS has been so successful and will continue to grow and achieve its objectives. ENS has no investors or VCs, we are all part of ENS in a sense. With such expanding growth I understand it will need to scale both human and machine maintenance operational costs. I’m confident of the team and future DAO’s ability to allocate funds for ENS viability and for public good projects/endeavors.

  1. ENS Integrates with the global namespace: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)

I think it’s important we do not bash, nor forget about web2. There will be a time of migration into web3, as things progress along. I believe it’s still very early. I feel ENS is one of the core components of the migration/adoption of decentralized web. It should be easy for web2 entities to use web3, and I feel like having an ENS name will be one of the first steps and entry points for many like myself. Integration with the global namespace is key for adoption and trust, where possible by still protecting ENS decentralization aspects. I see mass adoption coming and near endless possibilities using ENS as a central part of this future. SSO, subdomain entities/wallets/access, static web3 hosting, etc. It’s exciting.

I’d also like to disclose I am the safe keeper of a couple really cool names. I got inspired by a story about an ENS fairy that was buying names, and gifting them to the person or entity it was for. This was smart for safe keeping. After hearing about that, I reserved names for a couple of causes I believe in that I think web3 will be really beneficial to them. One is Kiva.eth, another is Lakota.eth. I do not consider myself the owner of these. I’m holding them to give for free at the right time for a future public good project (just in case anyone is curious as to why I own some of those names, not a squatter….)

My web3 qualifications / skills:

I’m a deep thinker, nonlinear in so many ways. I’ve been trained as a BCBA, but have many years of experience in the tech field. I am currently getting AWS Cloud Practitioner certified, which I know seems backwards from web3 qualifications and skills. However, I think it’s very relevant. I plan to be a bridge consultant for organizations seeking to migrate aspects of their web2 infrastructure, into web3. I am working on having my own consultancy business towards that end. You can bet ENS will be central to that.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. The last thing I want to say about my qualifications in web3 is that I’m particular about where I spend my time. Time is our most valuable commodity and asset we own. Zadok, the inspiration for my ENS name is my forever reminder of that. I know all too well time is short and a gift, so I’m careful how I spend it. ENS has been worth my time to keep learning about and following. I’ve concluded it is a vital part of future plans and projects. Dreams. Let’s make the future happen together. I would be honored to be a delegate.

ENS name: wmitsuda.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

  • I’m an early adopter of ENS, used to have an ENS name at the time gitcoin used to give them for free to every gitcoin user (*.gitcoin.eth).
  • I created Otterscan, has been supporting ENS in it since the one of the first versions.
  • I intend to incorporate future ENS features in Otterscan.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: agree
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: agree
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: agree
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: agree

My web3 qualifications / skills:

  • Created Otterscan, an open source block explorer who has been supporting ENS since the beginning.

ENS name: toyosu.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I strongly believe that the success of web3 is contingent, long term, on open, user owned, public goods protocols.Being a core and critical component of web3 infrastructure the DAO should not simply have the bare minimal revenue to maintain funding, but needs to have sufficient reserve capital for unseen and unexpected circumstances, as well as to remain competitive in attracting and retaining critical talent.

My web3 qualifications / skills: I am a developer / problem solver with advanced blockchain development skill, involved in a few metaverse blockchain projects.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

We have the ability to re-architect the web as we currently know it and domains are such a vital part of this architecture. This is the opportunity to built a network collectively owned by everyone, not just a few. I would love to be a part of the decision making process.

I have experience at large domain controllers who collectively have held tens of thousands of domains. This has largely shaped my view on domain squatting and I’d like to think my votes will lean in favor of the collective good rather than towards a flipper mentality. Recently I have made it an effort to return firstnamelastname.com-type names to owners at no cost, whenever they’re found at auction. Can provide some celebrities as witnesses if necessary.

My web3 qualifications / skills: Basic solidity understanding; not an active dev.

ENS name: moskalyk.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate::

I believe there are current gaps in the way we are mapping our world of ENS & Ethereum, with other future domains in the techno-spiritual sphere. Reasons for this, I’ve put together a few proposals I would like to see through:

Biological IPs. Vaccines, Compounds, Embeds, etc.

  • Fhyre protocol Integration
  • In the space of personalized medicine, I believe there should no difference than the internet of the web, and the internet of navigation clear state of mind & body that pervades biological protection and social contract with those of our social graph. Current medical infrastructure is fragmented and requires integration into cross domain data flows that are owned by users.

Non-invasive Brain Computer Interfaces

  • Mapping ones hardware devices unique identifiers to on-chain access points should become more accessible from a UI / UX perspective, all the way through the chain to manufacturers.
  • I’ve experimented with concepts I’ve coined as Telegenetic Dial up whereby social coherence in frequencies can begin to bridge ways for individuals to link cognitioners data across p2p networks like Fluence Network or other protocols (Filecoin).

You can view my other web3 projects

  • gov10: was a land based phenomenon meant to unit people around shared bioregional clusters using money markets.
  • ArBr: a project aimed at mapping nature via trees reforestation, spirit totems, and bridging worlds of gerontology - being the study of aging and longevity of carbon life forms - with that of a horology via the study of clock coordination mechanisms, like being able to vibe together & play.

Urbit Profile Mapping

  • Current ENS maps state updates, typically IPFS hashes that change. These require state updates that are costly. As identity changes through time, I believe this should not require payments. By mapping to Urbit planets public profiles that are self hosted and provide an uncensorable social network, this can further map the internet in ways that can accommodate and herald ones own social graph. This will also become more common as moderators interlink decentralized reputation across platforms as moderators (e.g. discord or reddit) with other DAO formation.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: ( Agree /Disagree/Comment)

My web3 qualifications / skills:
Blockchain, Web3, & Cognition Researcher
6+ Ethglobal Hackathon Participant (HackFS Judge)

I call myself a galactic tree steward, working on connecting nature, technology, and humans and I am also a participant in InkDAO with an early list of only 27 members.

My web3 qualifications/skills: Proficient in python as well as solidity. Experience with marketing, networking, and avid crypto investor.

ENS name: teju.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

ENS is a significant project not just for the Ethereum ecosystem but for all of crypto. I’ve spent the last few years helping people get onboarded, and I’m often faced with how broken and convoluted the experience is for “everyday” users. ENS is a huge step in the right direction of making crypto interfaces and interactions more accessible for this subset of users who will make up the majority in the coming years. It is also a pointer to the fact that crypto products and tools will become easy for everyone to interface with and use over time. I’m excited about the protocol’s progress and would love to contribute to shaping it moving forward.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree
Rules affecting name ownership should be crafted and enforced in the most objective manner possible.

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) I agree, ENS should be the standard on the Global Namespace in the future.

My web3 qualifications / skills: I have basic web3 solidity skills. I am new but I’m loving this space and can’t wait to learn more.

Pixelglyph DAO ENS Delegate Application

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

The Pixelglyph DAO is prepared to act as a responsible ENS delegate. The DAO has come to a consensus that becoming an ENS delegate aligns with the mission of the DAO which is the be a part of and further web3 and to create decentralized tools and utilities for all to use.

We have already created PXG.eth domains - extended ENS names which include a default verified NFT avatar and a public facing NFT gallery/personal profile. You can learn more about these at https://pxg.wtf

ENS has since added NFT avatars to ENS names, but we will continue to build out PXG.eth names and focus on adding value NFT community.

The DAO members would vote on proposals that the ENS DAO creates. After a vote is done by the Pixelglyph DAO members a delegate would carry that vote to the ENS DAO.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Agree

  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Agree

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Agree

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

Agree

My web3 qualifications / skills:

We have many qualified builders as part of the PXG Dao. I myself have been building on Ethereum since 2017 and have contributed to Ethereum standards. Like I mentioned above we extended ENS names with a custom resolver and registrar to support NFT avatars and allow for Pixelglyph holders to redeem one of these subdomains for free.

ENS name:

rabbitholegg.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

RabbitHole is honored to apply to be an ENS DAO delegate to support the creation of an identity layer for web3.

We’d like to be a delegate because:

We’re mission aligned: We’re on a mission to build the best place to find + discover work based on proven credentials. In doing so, we hope to help create a more crypto-literate, meritocratic, and self-sovereign world.

In this world we’re building, you earn as you learn, adding credentials to your on-chain resume that demonstrates knowledge across various areas of expertise, letting you “one-click apply” to job opportunities + get matched with roles directly applicable to your skills.

Having an identity layer as a public good in crypto is crucial to this future, and we believe ENS is primed to remain the market leader in this space.

We’re already stewards of the ENS community: As the market leader in customer acquisition + token distribution for protocols, we’re focused on helping protocols find the right token holders through Quests (token distributions) and Skills (verifiable credentials). We’ve worked with countless other DAOs, hold their tokens in our treasury, and built our strategy around metagovernance in these projects to align incentives + build the most positive-sum web3 ecosystem as possible.

Thousands of users acquired + registered their first ENS domain through RabbitHole, and countless new users look to us for education in how to get started in crypto. We’re dedicated to onboarding the next wave of web3 users, and guiding them through the process of acquiring an ENS domain is one of the first steps in our playbook. We’ll continue to promote ENS as the gold standard for creating one’s web3 identity, and pledge ourselves to active governance in the ENS DAO.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution 644 25:

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: Agree
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: Agree
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree

My web3 qualifications / skills:

The RabbitHole team has deep crypto-native roots, working at some of the leading consumer teams in web3 (Dapper Labs, OpenSea, etc.) and the largest ecosystems in DeFi (MakerDAO, MetaCartel, etc.). We’ve been through bull & bear markets, and we care deeply about building crypto primitives that stand the test of time.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I am a long time supporter and user of Ethereum and feel that I have a stake in its future.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree.
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree.

ENS name: yungwknd.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I would like to be a delegate so that I can help shepherd in the next generation of ENS enthusiasts. I’ve been a fan of ENS since I started learning about NFTs and I think it’ll likely be the first NFT many folks get in the future. I hope that as a delegate I can be a voice for the folks I’m already frens with and any new folks in the future.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Agree. Your name (and ENS name) can be your most closely guarded asset and should not be infringed upon.
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Agree. As a public good, ENS should not be for-profit and only use fees when required.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Agree. Excess funds should be used to fund other public goods that align with the same principles ENS holds.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Agree - ENS should be compatible with DNS to better facilitate onboarding of more people into the system. Would be amazing to be able to send USDC to netflix.com for monthly payments, etc.

My web3 qualifications / skills:

I have worked in web3 for about 3 months now at a startup called Manifold that is aiming to empower creators and re-decentralize NFTs.

I also have deployed a number of smart contracts myself and used EthDNS to deploy websites to interact with these contracts.
