ENS name: chrisfabian.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I co-lead giga a UNICEF+ITU project to connect every school in the world to the internet. A big part of that global connectivity is ensuring fair access to namespace and standards as the 50% of the world who isn’t connected gets connected. I would like to be a delegate to be part of these discussions and support a more fair, more open, and more decentralized future.

Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: (Agree)
Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree)
ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Comment) Yes - but not necessarily “right away” - i.e. this can be a goal to be worked towards.

My web3 qualifications / skills: My team launched UNICEF’s crypto fund (the first fully native crypto-in/crypto-out investment fund in the public sector) dedicated to investing Eth (and btc) in digital public goods, with support from EF. More recently Giga) also supported by EF, has a full blockchain backend for accounting for school connectivity, is prototyping defi/eth2 staking for paying for connectivity, and has been involved in NFT development projects to engage more of the community in a giga-dao type network of supporters.

ENS name: hostloc.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
我希望代表hostloc论坛的MJJ们参与到ENS的发展中,hostloc是一个全球的主机交流论坛,同时也是中国最大的主机讨论站点,MJJ是hostloc会员的自称,这是一个极富创造力的人群。众所周知,ENS是最早的,最伟大的去中心化域名系统,MJJ们相信ENS在未来的Web3.0中将扮演至关重要的角色,并且坚定的持有.eth域名,因此我们希望能参与至ENS DAO中与ENS一同快速成长。
I hope to participate in the development of ENS on behalf of MJJ of Hostloc Forum. Hostloc is a global host exchange forum and also the largest host discussion site in China. MJJ is the self-claim of Hostloc members, who are highly creative people. As we all know, ENS is the earliest and greatest decentralized domain name system, MJJ believes that ENS will play a crucial role in the future of Web3.0 and firmly hold the .eth domain name. We hope to participate in ENS DAO and grow rapidly with ENS.

tokenomics of the ENS token could be given utility to provide such funding to eliminate the need to rent the domain you’re supposed to be the owner of.

curious what ideas you have on this?

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: Agreed—without the ability to adjust fee structures an achilles heel is consequently introduced. We need the ability to do this with the vote of the community and with complete transparency
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: Agreed—similarly to the above… without this ability we are hindering the future potential and the ENS’ ability to achieve growth. We want development.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: Absolutely agree. What better way to advance our community that to use the community. With proper application processing and community input, grant funding will be extremely advantageous for this community.
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree—it is imperative we integrate with the legacy DNS naming systems while maintaining decentralization to the best of its ability. The success of ENS will be strongly tied to the integration with the global namespace.

**My web3 qualifications / skills: I bring enterprise expertise to the conversation having worked for corporations in the technology space ranging from security to data center real estate. I am not a developer but rather an executive that drives for critically thinking with a desire to contribute to our future. Intelligence with integrity.

ENS name: trunzo.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I came of age in web1. As a teenager posting on AOL’s Final Fantasy message boards, we were a DAO without a token or treasury: community-governed, open debate, shipped products in the form of fan fiction and even a text-based RPG, hosted meetups, shared alpha – and the list goes on. For over 25 years, then, I’ve been primed to contribute mightily to a decentralized organization! To boot, I am (1) a current DAO contributor, most notably at the culture hub $FWB, (2) a web3 and metaverse strategist through my advisory firm Burrata (burrata.io), (3) a financial regulatory attorney who has worked at one of the world’s premier. white shoe corporate firms, Cadwalader and (4) a futurologist who has been giving presentations to the c-suite of multi-national legacy institutions on the EVM, NFTs, play to earn, sovereign identity tools and many other blockchain issues since early 2017. One could say “I’ve been around the block,” and I believe this vast and unique set of skills make me an especially notable candidate as an ENS delegate.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - Minor comment here is that as long as issues related to ownership rights are freely and openly discussed and fairly voted upon, I believe the spirit of this section is strong and will work to uphold it at all costs.
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) - As with blockchains more generally, fees and associated costs are a primary mechanism to prevent spam. I am in favor of this provision but would like to figure out a way to bring fees down over time to a. level of “minimally viable fee issuance that still prevents spam but invites wider user.” That’s a mouthful, I know! And at a minimum, I think it would be important for ENS to eventually explore rollups, particularly of the ZK variety, and live on its own shard once the roadmap to Eth2 is complete.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

My web3 qualifications / skills: I have been an active evangelist, investor and strategist in the web3 space since early 2017. Indeed, the moment I first heard of Ethereum, it was as if I had an out of body experience: everything I was hearing, I had heard before and knew to be true – I could finish the sentences of the person who was speaking to me. Since then, on the legal side, I went on to contribute to America’s longest continuously operated law firm, Cadwalader, as a blockchain advisor as well as to the Brooklyn Project, Cardozo Law School’s pre-DAO Telegram group (kind of became “The LAO”) that helped lay the framework to structuring token launches that do not run afoul of the US’s securities laws (still an issue, obviously there’s work to be done!). On the culture side, I have (1) worked with consumer brands like Levi’s to develop NFT strategies and understand the inner-workings of web3 communities, (2) lived in metaverses like Decentraland (name’s “tyrell” – send me a friend request, I’m on nightly!), (3) contributed to discourse at the leading culture DAO, $FWB and (4) started a DAO of my own, vroomDAO ($VROOM – liquidity coming soon) and thus am a “in-the-weeds” expert on the operational side of DAOs.

Thank you for reading my lengthy proposal. I’d have made “Vote for Tyrell” wearables in Decentraland…actually, I might still do that!

Web 2.0 background for 15 years, then got bored and am no longer in IT officially. Crypto is reminiscent of the excitement back then and I am looking to jump in and contribute.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership shall not be infringed: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree -this is very basic and core right.
  • Fees are primarily an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree - keeping them high also increases the perceived value.
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment) Agree - this is a must as the legacy DNS system will live on for … maybe ever.
