ENS DAO Delegate Applications

ENS name: Yalor.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I"m very bullish on ENS after spending plenty of time with @matoken.eth and using it for literally everything in our DAO’s, I’m already a participating member of many communities experimenting with this type of governance (Gitcoin, MetaCartel, DAOhaus, RaidGuild, etc etc) so I have extensive experience with the types of proposals and information dissemination needed to get consensus. I would love to contribute to the long term sustainability of the ENS community as well as help make ENS the standard across the world :fire:

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: I think ENS is a great initiative. The application of domain names in the field of digital currency is as convenient as the blockchain. It is as simple and understandable as browsing websites on the Internet, making currency transactions easier. Personal accounts are easier to remember. This migration step will be necessary to ensure mainstream adoption and implementation of various aspects of Web 3.0. The current barrier to entry and risk factor is far to complex for the average user, which is slowing down the adoption curve.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
I hope to represent the views of people who may not have a technical background but are still wanting to participate in Web3. I believe ENS DAO has a bright future already but I would like to ensure that the decentralised web continues to be accessible for those who don’t fully understand the technology but agree with the principles.
As an information professional I value fairness and equity in relation to information and technology services, and consistently advocate for transparency, interoperability, and clarity in the information environment.

My view on each section of the proposed ENS Constitution

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree)
  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree)
  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree)
  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree)

My web3 qualifications / skills:
I’m a member of a few DAOs, including the mighty BanklessDAO.
As mentioned I am an information manager, not a developer, but I have an interest in decentralised ID and interoperable naming services which I see as an extension of the persistent identifiers used in the library and information industry for many years.

PS: I would really like to be a delegate, but I don’t have the funds to pay for the gas associated with adding an avatar and the delegate link. That seems a little exclusionary to me and it’s the type of thing I am keen to avoid for future governance mechanisms.

ENS name: jiaxihou.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: Personally I started to use ENS service from the gitcoin donation project this spring. I got much convenience and smooth user experience from this. Also, I have seen the growing need for domain service in web3 from DAOs, influencers, traditional brands and metaverse users. ENS is sure the best native domain project on ETH, and I am thrilled to be part of it.

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree

My web3 qualifications / skills:
I am a digital ethnographer with rich experiences on multiple digital platforms, paying particular attention on how marginalized social groups are both reshaping and reshaped by engaging on these commercial platforms. Moreover, I have investigated and am still looking at how subaltern Chinese young people who used to too segregated to build a collective consciousness are now reconnecting with each other through blockchain and innovate in their local context beyond the dominant innovation culture defined either by Silicon Valley or the Chinese state.

I believe contemporary structure of digital capitalism is not a “natural” outcome of some inert law of technological development and neoliberal market. It reproduces and reinforces the unequal and unsatisfying power dynamics among Internet, capital, and individuals. Therefore, it is necessary to imagine alternative futures where DAO has the potential to revolutionize people’s sociality and to connect and empower people, especially the disadvantaged ones. To understand how institutions or communities may reconfigure as DAO, I also just started my participant observation on several Chinese ones such as the Unknown DAO. My experiences as an ethnographer and sociologist may be helpful to understand how people’s agency and the relationship among them may transform on web3.

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
Ens is one of the most important infrastructure in the web3 world. To be a delegate of ens is one of the greatest way to join and help to build web3 world.I want to use all my talent and skills to make web3 world more popluar and more useful. And I am also working in a fund about investing web3 and I think I can contribute ens community and make ens better.

My view on each section of the [proposed ENS Constitution]:

Name ownership is an absolute right: Agree
Comment:guarantee the right of name ownship is most important thing for ens.Especially in a web3 world, a social network account will be connected with ens address and if we cannot guarantee the right it will make the web3 world unsafty.

Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: Agree
Comment:We need to let users cost somethings. It can reduce the users use ens account to make bad things. And community can use dao treasury to do something new to ens.

Income funds ENS and other public goods: Agree
Comment: Make the ens system strong is the most imoortant thing. And we can find ways to let ens more useful like using to connect to a social network account and let ens use in more chains like layer2 or solana.

ENS Integrates with the global namespace: Agree
Comment:Make ens decentralized is the most important thing and it is better to integrate with the legacy dns naming system.

My web3 qualifications / skills:
I am layer and have lots of experiment about crypto regulation.
Helped several dao to manage and market themselves.
I am also a web3 developer and have 3 years experiment in developing web3.
I am also a developer of eth smart contract and have 3 years experiment in using solidity.

ENS name: theCountess.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate: Help to show people how digital sovereignty is the door to so many good things…earning, creating, exchanging value…and these things won’t be complicated anymore.

My view on each section of the [proposed ENS Constitution 711]

  • Name ownership is an absolute right: AGREE | The “ability to renew, transfer, or otherwise use their names” is the only way the decentralized world, the metaverse…everything “web3” will have any longevity. The internet as it is now is restrictive but easy to use. So this next iteration has to offer individual sovereignty.

  • Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: AGREE | People take it too far and hoard names. Also, funding continuous development is absolutely needed to avoid stagnation of the ENS project.

  • Income funds ENS and other public goods: AGREE | I love to see cool projects funded. That’s a good thing.

  • ENS Integrates with the global namespace: AGREE | This looks like a much needed step in interoperability. Very exciting.

My web3 qualifications / skills: I’m not a programmer. But I think I am one representative of a large group of people who also love the ETH realm: Creatives. I am an early adopter + active participant in the space. I am a fan of the financial side of things (I’ve studied + participated in the space for 3 years + earned Linux Foundation certificates in Blockchain including Hyperledger Tech)… but I didn’t get into $ETH for this actually; it was purely the utility of it as it allowed me to begin to explore + create art in the open metaverse. It’s how I wandered into the ENS Twitter feed and learned of the utility of this also; I am furthering my work in the web3 space and it will continue to focus on merging Creative + Tech in ways that people who don’t think this world is for them will begin to realize it is.

ENS name: jessie.eth

My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

i ve been thinking about DAOs for a while, i m also searching for the DAO i wanna be a part of. it’s not just about the governance and rules, it’s about a belief for some time (maybe a long time). i d love to quote my friend when he 1st intro ENS to me,“it’s a big deal, not just an extension from DNS, think about where its uniqueness come from (ETH)”

currently i m in a team building a NFT curation network where you can have your data ownership(and own your attention), i want to better understand ENS as a new internet entry&identity for every INDIVIDUAL and bridge it to our solution, so that we can move to web3 together :running_woman:

I believe i can be a dot to spread the concept, i have a blog fat-garage.com (also i keep that .eth  and i write about the web3 movement (cryptos tokenomics,DAOs,NFTs etc) mostly from my experience and takeaways from other brilliant minds (for example takensthereum and brantly on my understanding on ENS).

finally, I love ETH!

My view on each section of the [proposed ENS Constitution]

Name ownership is an absolute right: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)

  • Somewhat Agree. i m thinking what “absolute right” is, and i guess if we can incentivise people who share the same value or passion on one name root (let’s say ownership), those who create names (coz there is only one ownership.eth) like ownershipecon, ownershiplabs, etc could somewhat related to each other.

Registration fees exist as an incentive mechanism: (Agree/Disagree/Comment)-Agree.

Income funds ENS and other public goods: (Agree/Disagree/Comment).-Agree.

ENS Integrates with the global namespace: (Agree/Disagree/Comment):-Agree.
