6. ENSIP Updates

ENSIP process feedback
Prem asked Netto about his experience going through the ENSIP process.

  • @alextnetto.eth feedback:
    • Long process (6-8 months of work)
    • It would have been helpful to have more ENSIP editors.
    • The idea is complex, and they tried to involve as many people as possible.
    • The goal was to understand how to implement the ENSIP and adapt it to different use cases.
    • Overall experience was slow because it’s hard work
    • Work is bottlenecked with Nick as the sole editor
    • It took some time to finish this because the Blockful team took the time to understand every provider’s needs.

Formalizing the ENSIP Process

  • @Premm.eth is advocating for a more open and public process, like Ethereum Magicians.
  • It would be best to have a central place to discuss ENSIPs and updates.
  • A significant milestone was that a GitHub repo was established this year.
  • Need to define the next steps.
    • It was suggested that a temp check be created on the forum to discuss canonical vs non-canonical ENSIPs.
