Delegation Incentives: rounds 1 and 2
The delegation incentives pilot discussed in this thread has paid two of its three rounds. We are posting the numbers now, rather than waiting for the pilot to end, so the DAO can follow along. Below is what went out and a first read on the three metrics we said we would report. The full analysis, covering all three rounds and with its own thread for discussion, comes early next month.
What was paid
| Round 1 (July) | Round 2 (August) | |
|---|---|---|
| Paid | 8 Aug 2026, one transaction | 4 Sep 2026, three transactions (1, 2, 3) |
| Total | 5,000 ENS | 5,000 ENS |
| Active delegates | 45 | 40 |
| Recipients | 734 (29 active delegates, 650 delegators, 55 lottery winners) | 541 (28 active delegates, 480 delegators, 33 lottery winners) |
The three metrics
The first row below excludes nick.eth and the 3M ENS delegated to him on 22 June and withdrawn on 8 September. At the end of July that delegation alone was 69% of all voting power held by active delegates, so any growth figure that includes it mostly tracks that one delegation. The program’s own growth metric for August, which includes it, came out at −70.69%, because he voted on 6 of the last 10 proposals and no longer counted as active. None of this changes the payout. With or without him, both months land in the lowest band, 5,000 ENS.
| Round 1 (July) | Round 2 (August) | |
|---|---|---|
| Voting power held by active delegates | +13.0% (30 Jun → 31 Jul) | +6.2% (31 Jul → 31 Aug) |
| Delegated supply | 7.04M → 7.09M ENS (+0.7%, 1 → 31 Jul) | 7.09M → 7.09M ENS (+0.0%, 1 → 31 Aug) |
| Rewards moved since payout | 7.7% of the round | pending (full report) |
| Delegators still on the same delegate | 640 of 641 | pending (full report) |
Voting power and delegated supply come from Anticapture.
Round 3 closes on 30 September and a full report comes after it.
