The Metagov Working Group is excited to announce a new intention for our first Metagov call each month, designed to improve delegate participation and coordination.
What’s Changing
Starting next month, the first Metagov call of each month will focus specifically on delegate attendance and participation. This existing weekly call will now serve as our monthly all-hands for delegates, creating a central coordination point within our regular Metagov call schedule.
The stewards will curate these monthly calls more intentionally, designing an agenda that maximizes the value of this dedicated hour. Our goal is to ensure that the time delegates commit to this call translates into meaningful progress and coordination for ENS governance.
Why We’re Making This Change
Making Delegate Participation More Accessible
We’ve heard from many delegates that while they want to stay involved, committing to weekly calls is challenging given their other responsibilities. By focusing on a single, predictable monthly meeting, delegates can:
- Plan ahead and block this specific time in their calendars
- Prioritize attendance for this key coordination session
- Participate more consistently in governance discussions
Enhanced Delegate Coordination
These monthly all-hands meetings will significantly improve how delegates work together by:
- Creating a regular forum where all delegates receive the same information simultaneously
- Enabling faster consensus-building on important governance matters
- Reducing coordination overhead and communication gaps between delegates
Next Steps
This new delegate-focused approach to our first Metagov call of each month will begin on 1st April (not a joke) at our regular 1pm UTC. No additional meetings are being added to the calendar - we’re simply emphasizing delegate attendance for this specific weekly call each month. We strongly encourage all delegates to prioritize attending this particular Metagov call.
We believe this adjustment will make our governance processes more inclusive and effective. We welcome your thoughts and feedback on this initiative.
