Domain not extended after 24 hours

I performed an extension on my domain and 23 hours and 36 mins has passed, and it still shows as expiring soon in the app. Here is the confirmed transaction:

https://etherscan.io/tx/0x7ac3de89dcb066e58157eab21943471e94be6c20e09f81c1ca1b71e6fc9b9a0e

Am I doing something wrong?

The address that received the transaction appears to be an empty wallet and not the registrar. The txn input data is not as expected either.

How and where did you renew?

I performed the extension from app.ens.domains. I clicked the checkbox next to the domain I wished to extend, clicked the button “Extend Selected” for an additional 2 years, metamask prompted me the amount due + gas, and I confirmed the transaction.

Can you check the txn notes in your wallet and verify the dApp in the smart contract call is app.ens.domains?

Unless I’m misinformed, something seems off and this may need attention.

Would that be the activity log, or somewhere else?

Transaction created with a value of 0.002865 ETH at 09:23 on 12/15/2021.
Transaction submitted with estimated gas fee of 0.005 ETH at 09:24 on 12/15/2021.
Transaction confirmed at 09:24 on 12/15/2021.

It really does look like I shipped $21.63 to a random empty wallet. Maybe I never rejected a previous transaction, and that transaction prompted over my renewal?

I see on Etherscan that the method is “Renew All”, is that expected for ens renewal?

Hey Coltron,

I just tried again, and the same thing happened!

You can see my TX Pending…

And confirmed…

Do you know the best route I can get this addressed? Seems to be a major issue.

Thanks!

Here is the actual transaction where it says https://app.ens.domains

I quickly checked the app and everything was working normally for me. Mentioning @nick.eth @jefflau.eth in case it’s on the app.ens.domains side.

I’m inclined to think there is something malicious going on with your wallet/wallet extension or address. Don’t approve a transaction/contract call if the recipient isn’t as intended or the data isn’t correct.

In your transaction the recipient’s address isn’t the registrar’s and the transaction data is a random string.

Txn data should look similar to this... Function: renew(string name, uint256 duration)
MethodID: 0xacf1a841

Hey Coltron,

Thanks for the support. I’ve since opened a ticket in Discord. It might be some bug with caching, yet to confirm.

Thanks!
