1. ENS Labs Updates

  • L2 primary names proposal will be executed in 14 hours!
  • PRs are ready to go for VIEM and WAGMI.
  • Ethereum.org website showed the speaker’s ENS name when they connected their wallet.
  • Google Cloud has a portal to receive testnet tokens and accepts ENS names.
  • ENS Labs is gearing up for hackathon season:
    • Will be present at ETHGlobal New York, ETHAccra in Ghana, ETHTokyo, ETHGlobal New Delhi in India, DevConnect for ETHGlobal Buenos Aires, and ETHRome.

  • They’ve created a custom CMS publishing system where people can log in and edit their template, and publish on their ENS name

  • Slobo created a Telegram bot
  • Tracks ENS-related voting power changes.
  • It provides recent activity updates

  • Greg built an MCP server for Ethereum and ENS dev tools.

  • Used the MCP server to migrate all the records from one ENS resolver to another.
    • Was impressed that LLMs know how to use the MCP server tools.

5. Space for Service Providers [Prem, ethstars.info]

  • Working on a universal credential idea – ethstars.info
  • One star, global signal.
  • ENS records are controlled by the user, but there are records that other people control too.
  • The idea is to create a meta-layer of an ENS profile.
  • Inspired by stars on GitHub

  • The team is working on L2 primary names
    • Allowing contracts on different L2 chains to be named
  • The speaker demonstrated naming a contract on both Sepolia and Optimism.

  • Proposal – .locker will be added to ENS
  • Positive sentiment for the growing number of TLDs supported in ENS

  • Commons spaces returns this Friday with Greg from ENS and Steve from Basenames to unpack ENSIP-19 and the new .eth L2 controller on Base. A milestone for ENSv2 and L2 primary names.
