Hello everyone!
So first of all, many thanks to Vision team for taking such a monumental endeavor, clearly you were one of the cornerstones projects - independent market place is no minor feat at all.
I’m just wondering if any insights can be shared - what went wrong and how did this all happen?
Was there anything ENS DAO could’ve done to keep you guys going? Some additional funding? Maybe some PR on ENS side? Or any other form of support?
I personally think its monumental loss, you were very valuable part of ecosystem, and feel very sorry that such an important chunk of ecosystem faded away.
EDIT: I think there is a very important lesson to be learned here. I could still somehow understand the situation if we as a community observed the process (after all that’s what DAO is about - community, we coordinate observe and support each other, discuss the issues at hand openly, try to solve problems as they come up). That way we can move forward sustainably, with nice organic growth. Then let’s say it was all transparent, we could see that Vision was struggling, we as a DAO did everything we could to keep them going, but for some set of reasons it was just not possible to maintain the project - the market fit was bad, not enough funding etc. That way situation could be managed - if DAO wasn’t willing to give them more funding to go on, why wasn’t that put to a vote for example? We have a lot of smart people around here, if additional “internal” funding at some point became unfeasible, we could’ve helped them to find external investors for example (just thinking out loud here).
Whereas what happened now, I just don’t this - one second Vision is live, then next second its gone. Which means that problems were silently piling up, and nobody was dealing with them. Consequently same thing can happen to any project within the ecosystem. If we allow for projects to fade away like this, in an instant that is a very unhealthy sign indicating DAO is not doing a very good job supporting protocol’s growth.
