Growing Regenerative Knowledge & Tools
greenpilldevs.eth
Description*
Hello all! We are the Greenpill Dev Guild. We’re requesting a grant to provide educational resources that help Public Goods organizations get rolling with Web3 tools. We’re writing articles, creating infographics, providing tech support and hosting workshops.
The Dev Guild is part of the Greenpill Network, a global organization with Chapters based in countries and cities, plus Guilds that are expertise-based with distributed members. The Dev Guild is integral for piloting tech, aiding app development, and providing Web3 education across the Network. Our resources are relevant to any Public Good org in a formative phase.
Over 7 days in June and early July we published a series of 7 articles: “Pioneering A Regenerative Stack: A Four-Layer Path to Sustainable Impact”:
For this grant we intend to create resources that lead off from articles and demonstrate how to utilize the public good tech in the stack. We have a strong workshop and tech support infrastructure to facilitate learning and engagement along with an experienced design team to produce educational resources and guides.

Milestone 1 - Regenerative Stack Article Series
Description
In our seven article series on Paragraph we explored how each layer in our stack connects and how it can capture value. Our stack spans four interconnected layers of the Ethereum ecosystem: blockchain, protocol, social, and application. Each layer is a project that plays a unique role in creating a self-sustaining loop for funding public goods. Our aim is to demonstrate that impact can indeed finance itself.
That begins at the Blockchain Layer where we highlight how yield from Squad Staking supports public good funding. On the Protocol Layer we explain how transparent, efficient mechanisms are used to distribute funds where they’re needed most. On the Social Layer we describe GreenWill, our reputation and community engagement system driving fund allocation. On the top Application Layer we explore Green Goods, a user-friendly impact-tracking app (PWA) that captures environmental work to tokenize and earn financial and social capital.
We will evolve the infographics in the articles and release them as a collection of ecosystem NFTs on Highlight.xyz.
This grant proposal leads off from the Regenerative Stack articles. We’re planning to augment the series in Milestone 2 with public good infographics guides, then host a series of workshops to complete the milestones. The Milestones 3-5 will cover regenerative squad staking, 6-7 will address web3 public good funding mechanisms, and 8-9 will support the pilot of Green Goods.

Milestone 2 - Web3 Public Goods Infographic Series
Description
As part of the “Pioneering a Regenerative Stack” series we created infographics to illustrate the relationships between the players in the ecosystem. We intend to create additional infographics that outline the public goods ecosystem and guide new participants.
This will be in a fun and friendly manner, thereby simplifying the steps to get involved. We want to onboard new people into the space and boost their integration.
Ultimately we’ll create an NFT collection of the infographics. The images will be made ‘print ready’ so they can become posters or be printed on t-shirts.
Detail of Deliverables
- Create 5-10 new infographics that illustrate the public good space and how to get involved
- Optimize the images for multimedia usage
- Collate the images into NFTs and create a collection on a Highlight.xyz

Milestone 3 - Public Good Squad Staking Workshop [101]
Description
Squad Staking is a method for multiple people to collectively stake a total of 32 ETH, thereby having enough capital to run an Ethereum validator node and earn rewards. By pooling resources, squad staking removes the burden of having to be a solo operator with the full 32 ETH and dramatically lowers the cost barrier to participate in Ethereum’s proof-of-stake consensus. Leading the charge in this paradigm are Obol, Dappnode, and Lido, which together provide the software, hardware, and economic framework to make squad staking a reality. Within the Dev Guild, we believe staking can become a foundational source of public goods funding, aligning individual incentives with collective benefit.
Having setup a genesis squad over the last 2 quarters we now plan to start a new cohort of 3-5 squads and this initial workshop will provide a detailed overview of staking and how it can support public goods. We’ll focus in particular on how staking can support community initiatives and grow Ethereum localism especially in the global south. Lastly we’ll touch upon the Obol ecosystem and the benefits to earning a Techne credential which opens up more staking opportunities.

Milestone 4 - Running a DappNode Workshop & Support Sessions [102
Description
Obol has been pioneering Distributed Validator Technology (DVT) since 2021, enabling validators to be run by a cluster of people or organizations instead of a single operator. This technology makes “squad staking” possible by splitting a validator key across multiple nodes (and operators) who act in unison. Obol’s DVT has been integrated into the Dappnode OS, meaning anyone running a Dappnode can easily set up a distributed validator cluster.
After introducing the community to squad staking and determining the cohort of squads we will dive into more depth with squad staking focusing on setting up a Dappnode. We’ll guide attendees through the Dappnode OS highlighting the plethora of staking opportunities. In addition, we’ll explore the Obol Dappnode packages to prepare the cohort for squad taking.
In addition to the live workshop, an assessment will be crafted and follow-up support sessions for squads in the cohort to setup their nodes.

Milestone 5 - Deploying An Obol Squad Workshop & Support Sessions [103]
Description
The economics of Squad Staking offer lower individual cost and higher collective output. The setup can be complex, so this workshop is dedicated to getting squad validators up and running.
During this workshop squads will go through process of deploying their squad on an Ethereum testnet to start validating and earning the Base Bronze Techne Credential by having good uptime. We’ll focus on the Obol launchpad which supports the deployment of squads and go through how to use the launchpad with the Obol Dappnode package. Lastly we’ll dive into the Lido CSM which provides the real ETH once ready to go to mainnet Ethereum.
In addition to the live workshop, followup support sessions will be scheduled for squads to deploy their squads or provide technical support as needed.

Milestone 8 - Green Goods Gardens Mid-Pilot Workshop
Description
Green Goods originated as a hackathon project at ETHDenver, where Dev Guild members Afo, Coi, Marcin, Marcus, and Steve collaboratively built a platform called Camp Green. This platform enabled users to create public good campaigns and reward meaningful contributions. After ETHDenver, Camp Green was renamed Green Goods and gradually found its focus in biodiversity efforts through a partnership with Greenpill Brasil, a Greenpill Chapter dedicated to removing invasive species like La luscenca and planting native ones.
Green Goods is founded on the belief that small, local actions — a volunteer clearing invasive weeds or a neighbor planting a tree — can collectively create global impact when properly recognized and rewarded. With this vision, we are currently running a pilot program over the next few quarters with Greenpill chapters worldwide, including communities in the Dominican Republic, Koh Phangan, Nigeria, Brazil, and Uganda. Each chapter is engaged in unique and impactful environmental work, whether it’s planting trees at schools, practicing agroforestry, or managing regenerative farms.
As part of the pilot, we plan to conduct three workshops. The first workshop was completed a few weeks ago, kicking off the cohort with insights into the development of Green Goods and helping identify the needs and goals of the participating gardeners. The recording is available on YouTube for all gardeners to view.
For this workshop, we aim to check in on how gardeners are doing, share insights both around the app and their environmental work, and provide support to gardens where needed. We’ll dive into the methodologies be crafted within gardens and discuss pathways Green Goods work can be tokenized and capture value.
