[Feedback Request] JustaName Intros

Hi everyone, we wanted to introduce ourselves, and this year we want to participate actively in ENS DAO.

We spent our last 15 months with ENS at the center of anything we’ve been building, and the feedback from this community is invaluable to us today as we prepare for this new year.

JustaLab/JustaName Intros

JustaLab started in the summer of 2023, experimenting after the launch of EIP-4337 (Account Abstraction). Our first goal was to build a smart wallet with better UX, making Web3 more accessible for the average everyday user.

We focused on frictionless onboarding and simple key management but wanted to push further. One feature we were especially proud of was embedding an LLM agent to handle natural language instructions. For example, users could send an amount of USDC (ERC-20) to a friend in their contact list, with the agent handling network selection and other technical details.

To make wallets more user-friendly, we turned addresses into a contact list and onboarded users with onchain usernames, inspired by Coinbase Wallet’s [name].cb.id approach. That’s when we really got deep into ENS.

We became fixated on scaling ENS subnames. Competing with the biggest wallet providers didn’t seem like the best move, so we shifted our focus to a more pressing issue: onboarding more users into Web3. We’re committed to creating an open platform for ENS subnames, helping brands offer personalized names while using offchain data to bring more people into the ecosystem.

What we shipped last year

:rocket: JustaName:

An infrastructure solution for Off-chain ENS subnames issuance, allowing businesses to distribute portable, interoperable [username].[business].eth identities to users for free.

:globe_with_meridians: JustWeb3:

A versatile widget designed to streamline Web3 onboarding and identity management for dApps. JustWeb3 allows dApps to issue off-chain ENS subnames, authenticate users with SIWENS, and enable intuitive, dynamic profile management.

:white_check_mark: JustVerified:

Verifiable credentials for permissionless social verification and Proof of Personhood allow platforms to authenticate users securely without compromising privacy while empowering users to hold credentials in their ENS.

:robot: SIWENS (Sign In With ENS):

An extension of the Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE) protocol, SIWENS adds verification of ENS (Ethereum Name Service) domain ownership during authentication. This allows users to log in using their ENS names (e.g., username.eth) alongside their Ethereum wallet.

:handshake: Expanded Plugin Integrations:

Collaborated with amazing protocols like POAP, XMTP, Talent Protocol, and EFP, enhancing our solutions and allowing developers to integrate these protocols into dApps with a single line of code.

Here’s our widget release video that covers our features.

:chains: Robust Infrastructure:
We took our time to create a modular and scalable infrastructure hosted on AWS, enabling us to expand without limit while maintaining zero downtime.

:hammer_and_wrench: JustWeb3 Chrome Extension:

The JustWeb3 Extension resolves ENS names directly on X. Simply visit any Twitter (X) account with an ENS name, click the “ENS” button on their profile, and view their ENS profile.

Here’s our related announcement on X with the video.

We want to iterate over this piece of software until you like it. We want product feedback!

Our Goals for 2025 and Onward

We are, as of today, committed to the offchain subname solving. Full decentralization is not something everyone wants, and we feel our strength would be in delivering a platform that brands and organizations can use in a hybrid manner. Keeping control of the data, and having an off button is a must-have for many corporates. It also provides a trade-off that many internet consumers are comfortable with.

JustaName started as a passion project for us, but in order to continue growing sustainably, we need more feedback from ENS’s core community. We want to hear from you - what do you need, and what do you wish to see from a product developer like us?
