Gas Fee Ridiculousness

Please someone help me understand if there is a cheaper way to get an ENS. I paid gas fees 3 times from buying and making changes in settings. It wouldn’t be so bad if fees were 90% cheaper.

Having an ENS Domain is an investment into your web3 future. After your settings are set, there isn’t much changing after unless you are consistently adding and changing sub domains. We hear your voice but we are all in the same boat.

Unfortunately, gas fees are determined by usage on the Ethereum network, and from what I can tell of the contracts, they’re pretty optimized. On the ENS Discord (https://chat.ens.domains/) there is a gas price notification that periodically updates the current gas fees so you can target times when the fees on the network are lower to make your transactions.

https://watchtheburn.com/ is the most accurate, real-time indicator of gas prices being paid. Like others have mentioned, the price is determined by the load on the ethereum network at any given time. However, I am confident 2022 will be the year of ethereum “layer 2” solutions that will eventually reduce the gas cost at least 100x.

not sure why you quoted me in a quote block then quoted me without a quote block.

I agree that "Having an ENS Domain is an investment into your web3 future. "
