Is the Subname Registrar Still Recommended for use with Namechain on the Horizon?

Hey, I have a question regarding this use case: Creating a Subname Registrar | ENS Docs

I’m curious about targetting this as a feature but since ENS is moving to an L2 and lots has changed since the early days of the project, is selling subdomains still something that will stand the test of time under its current architecture?

If not, will a new iteration of this sort of thing be present on ENSs L2 Name-Chain?

The recommended approach most recently has been to use the Name Wrapper, which allows trustlessly issuing subdomains without locking in a specific issuer implementation.

However, with v2 now on the horizon, I’d recommend holding off; locked names in the Name Wrapper will only be migratable to L1, so if you want to be able to issue trustless subnames on Namechain your best option is to wait until namechain is live.

Thanks Nick! Appreciate the clarity and I think that’s what I’ll be doing.
