1. Overview
ENS is core infrastructure for web3 identity, but its adoption remains uneven across regions. Latin America (LATAM) is one of the most important regions globally in terms of crypto usage and developer activity, with strong on-chain participation and a vibrant builder ecosystem. Despite this level of maturity, ENS adoption in the region has not yet reached a comparable level.
This post is intended as a temp check to evaluate interest in a focused ENS growth initiative for LATAM.
2. LATAM Context
Multiple well‑established industry reports and ecosystem observations consistently show that:
-
LATAM is one of the most active regions globally in crypto usage, with strong participation in self‑custody, DeFi, and on‑chain interactions.
-
The region has a large and growing base of web3 developers and builders, producing protocols, applications, communities, and educational initiatives.
-
Countries such as Argentina and Mexico are widely recognized as regional leaders in crypto adoption and web3 development.
Despite this, ENS adoption and awareness in Spanish‑speaking markets remains relatively low compared to the overall level of crypto and developer activity.
3. Proposed Solution
I propose a regionally focused ENS Growth & Adoption pilot program for LATAM, initially launching in two countries:
-
Argentina
-
Mexico
The program would be structured around local ambassadors, with three complementary roles per country:
-
Content Creator – Creating educational ENS content in Spanish.
-
Business Development (BD) – Working with companies, protocols, universities, and organizations to onboard ENS usage.
-
Events & Community Manager – Organizing educational and community‑driven ENS events.
I would act as ENS LATAM Manager, coordinating the teams, aligning efforts across countries, supporting execution, and serving as the point of contact with the ENS DAO.
4. Goals
The high‑level goals of this initiative are:
-
Increase ENS awareness and understanding among existing web3 users in LATAM
-
Encourage ENS adoption by builders, companies, and communities
-
Strengthen ENS presence within local ecosystems where crypto is already actively used
-
Build long‑term regional capacity rather than short‑term marketing exposure
5. About Me
I’m ethinker.eth.
I have been involved in the ENS ecosystem for over 4 years and have worked hands‑on with ENS adoption across individuals, investors, companies, and protocols.
-
Over 150+ ENS sales as a broker, including many companies and protocols that acquired their ENS domains (public disclosure is not possible due to privacy constraints).
-
Deep understanding of ENS as a system: its long‑term vision, current state, limitations, and potential solutions — including topics such as squatting dynamics and incentive alignment (additional context here).
-
Active participation in the ecosystem, including involvement with the new iteration of ENSVision.
-
I’m from Argentina.
Outside of ENS, I am the founder of a web3 startup, with a background in management and finance.
My motivation for this initiative is aligned with ENS long‑term success: I want LATAM to continue growing as a web3 region, and I believe ENS is essential infrastructure for that growth.
I would remain anon, while giving local ambassadors full ownership and visibility as the public faces of ENS in each country.
6. Budget
The budget is currently in a research phase, focused on evaluating market salaries and the resources required to execute the initiative effectively.
7. Request for Feedback
This post is meant as an initial interest check, and I would greatly appreciate feedback from delegates and community members on:
-
Whether the DAO sees LATAM as a priority region for ENS growth
-
Thoughts on the proposed structure (two countries, local ambassadors, regional manager)
-
Strategic considerations the DAO would want addressed before moving toward a formal proposal
-
Whether there is reliable, up‑to‑date data on web3 salaries and freelance rates that could help inform a future budget
Any feedback, questions, or alternative perspectives are welcome.
