In the second quarter of 2026 Unruggable was engaged across two main focus areas, Ethereum Interoperability and AI. ENSWhois was also further developed into a comprehensive platform for ENS data.
Ethereum Interoperability
Unruggable continued advancing the core interoperability standards, ERC-7930: Interoperable Addresses and ERC-7828: Interoperable Names. In June, Thomas Clowes (clowes.eth) was the featured guest on Episode 160 of PEEPanEIP, hosted by Pooja Ranjan of the ECH Institute, discussing how the two standards can make the worry of whether the right chain was used when sending funds disappear.

ENSWhois Q2 2026 Highlights
Q2 was focused on transforming ENSWhois from a name lookup tool into a comprehensive platform for ENS data, analytics, AI, and next-generation identity infrastructure. Key highlights include:
- Live ENS resolution – The platform now resolves any ENS name in real time, not just ones we’ve pre-indexed, with full history tracking of how names, ownership, and records change over time.
- ENS analytics & statistics – A new suite of public stats and insight pages (registrations, renewals, primary-name adoption, pricing trends, holder behaviour), plus a live activity feed and advanced search on the homepage.
- Multi-chain coverage – Expanded and hardened indexing across Ethereum and its L2s, with proper separation of L1 and L2 name data.
- Worldcoin usernames – Added support for World ID usernames, bringing a whole new identity namespace into the platform.
- AI & agent identity – Launched an MCP server so AI assistants can query ENS data directly, plus a new ERC-8004 ENS Agents directory that surfaces on-chain AI agents and their registrations.
- ENS Metadata & schemas – Support for the emerging ENS Metadata standard, including record validation, on-chain attestation verification, and a directory of schemas ranked by adoption.
- Discoverability & SEO – A major search engine and social sharing overhaul (rich previews, sitemaps at scale, structured data) to grow organic reach.
- Accounts & API – Self-service API key management (reveal and rotation) for developers building on our data.
- Reliability – A rebuilt status and health page, plus zero downtime deployments, keeping the site fully available even during updates.
- ENS v2 groundwork – Early preparation for the next major version of the ENS protocol.
AI and AI Agent Identity
ENS Agents and the launch of ENS8004.xyz
The ENS Agents production stack went live on June 10, when Unruggable launched ENS8004.xyz. It turns any ENS name into a verifiable onchain AI agent identity. ERC-8004, ENSIP-25, and ENSIP-26 let a name advertise metadata, MCP endpoints, and agent capabilities. AI applications discover that data onchain in ENS records. Adapter8004 makes registration permanent. The agent is bound to the name’s NFT, so ownership and control transfer with it. Bindings show up on OpenSea right in the NFT details view.

Adapter and ERC-8217: Agent NFTs
While working on ERC-8004 Trustless Agents, Prem found that it was not easy for NFTs to own 8004 identities. NFTs, including holders of ENS names, had no standard way to control an ERC-8004 agent identity registration. In April he announced Adapter8004 and authored ERC-8217: Agent NFT Identity Bindings. Transfer the NFT (including an ENS name) and control of the bound agent ID goes with it. Adapter8004.xyz makes it easy to bind any external token to an ERC-8004 identity record, including ERC-721, ERC-1155, and ERC-6909. On June 2, ERC-8217 was merged as a Draft into the official Ethereum ERC repository.

OpenSea integration and the new Agents category
OpenSea integrated ERC-8217 in May, starting with agent binding in the REST API. Agent binding then appeared on NFT details pages. The Normies NFT collection used ERC-8217 to register 8004 identities. Next, agents became a top-level OpenSea category alongside Art, PFPs, Gaming, and Membership.

ERC-721T: Onchain Metadata on the Collection NFT
In June, Prem introduced ERC-721T as part of ERC-8048: Onchain Metadata for Token Registries. Instead of a separate registry, which adds extra cost, ERC-721T puts metadata directly on the collection NFT, including context, endpoints (MCP, A2A, web, x402), and chain addresses. ENS names can also use ERC-721T as a base for ENS subname collections. Every NFT gets its own key/value metadata store, supporting all kinds of NFTs including real-world assets. A reference implementation was published alongside the introduction.

RESTAP: REST Agent Protocol
A2A and MCP provide agent-to-agent communication and tools, but a protocol is also needed for agent-to-agent and agent-to-UI chat. In June, Prem introduced RESTAP, the REST Agent Protocol. The NFT project Koalified integrated RESTAP alongside A2A and MCP for its agents, and Signalbound, which launched on Adapter8004, named RESTAP as its next step in its roadmap.
