:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: About This Cycle

Pending the execution of [Executable] ENS Stakeholder Analysis and Retro , this term will operate under an extended mandate while conducting an independent, DAO-approved retrospective of governance, spending, and organizational structure.

During this period:

  • Term 6 stewards remain in office with full authority
  • Working group operations continue
  • Steward elections are paused
  • The ENS Retro is conducted as an independent evaluation
  • Findings will inform governance reforms and the launch of Term 7

:bar_chart: ENS Retro Status

  • Phase: Executable Proposal Pending
  • Duration: Dec 2025 → Apr 2026
  • Conducted by: MetaGov Project

:ballot_box_with_ballot: Proposals

Proposals are how changes are made to the DAO’s status quo. They can be submitted by anyone meeting the required $ENS thresholds and are voted on by delegates based on their token holdings. If a proposal reaches quorum and passes, it is ratified and implemented.

Sign up for notifications via Telegram.

Proposal Thresholds:

  • 10k ENS: Required for a social proposal — an agreement of the DAO on matters that cannot be enforced on-chain.
  • 100k ENS: Required for an executable proposal — involves smart contract operations executed by DAO-controlled accounts.

:pushpin: Proposal Bulletin

Regularly check the Proposal Bulletin for updates and detailed information on each proposal. For detailed governance information, refer to the Governance Documentation.

:page_facing_up: Governance Process

  1. Temperature Check — Discourse
Post a neutral question on discuss.ens.domains to gauge community sentiment on a change. Optional and informal, used to decide whether to proceed.

  2. Draft Proposal — GitHub
Draft a formal proposal in the ENS governance GitHub repo. Open a Draft PR, share it on Discourse, gather feedback, refine, and build support before moving to the next phase.

  3. Active Proposal — Snapshot/Governance Portal
Mark PR Ready for Review. If approved, it gets a number and Snapshot vote. If Executable, submit onchain if >100k ENS delegated. If passed, it executes after a timelock.

:pushpin: Working Group Bulletin

The ENS DAO manages its activities through specialized working groups. These groups facilitate decision-making and funding allocation in line with the ENS DAO Constitution, bypassing the need for every action to undergo the DAO’s formal proposal process.

a. Working Group Descriptions

Each group focuses on distinct areas, adhering to the ENS DAO Constitution and addressing the DAO’s overall requirements:

  • Meta-Governance: Provides governance oversight and support for working group operations through DAO tooling and governance initiatives.
  • Ecosystem: Enhances the ENS Ecosystem by identifying and funding high-impact ENS-specific projects.
  • Public Goods: Supports the greater Ethereum ecosystem by identfying and funding open-source development.

b. Working Group Roles

The roles provided herein are a summary, please refer the Working Group Rules for complete specifications:

  • Steward: Stewards are responsible for overseeing the operation of working groups in accordance with the Working Group Rules and the ENS DAO constitution.
  • Lead Steward: Lead Stewards are responsible for the operational management and administration of working groups. They provide regular updates to the DAO related to working group progress, achievements, and challenges.
  • DAO Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for managing working relationships and communications across working groups as well as performing administrative duties for the DAO.

c. Steward Information

There are three elected stewards in each working group. These stewards were elected for Term 6 and their mandates have been formally extended through the Retrospective Cycle (April 2026) to ensure continuity during the ENS Retro.

Lead Stewards are indicated in bold.
