ENS DAO Working Group Budgets for H1 2025
Context
The ENS DAO Working Groups have released their budgets for the first half of 2025. Below is a summary of each, along with a link to the original thread.
Purpose
This post aims to summarize each working group budget, making them more accessible for review while reaffirming the commitment to development, governance, and public goods within the Ethereum ecosystem. For any questions, please reach out to the respective Working Group.
1. Meta-Governance Working Group
- Total Budget: $544,000 USDC and 5 ETH
- Allocation:
- Steward Compensation: $294,000
- DAO Tooling: $150,000 (including $50,000 earmarked for Agora)
- Contract Audits: $60,000
- Discretionary & Sponsorships: $40,000
- Governance Initiatives: 5 ETH
This budget supports governance processes, development of DAO tools, and necessary audits to ensure security and efficiency within the DAO.

2. Ecosystem Working Group
- Total Budget: $832,000 USDC and 10 ETH
- Allocation:
- Hackathons: $300,000
- Grants: $232,000 (including 10 ETH)
- Bug Bounty Program: $100,000
- Audit Support: $100,000
- Other Initiatives: $100,000 (includes IRL events, support mods, and the newsletter.)
The group plans to sponsor several ETHGlobal hackathons throughout the year and continue supporting developers through grants and bug bounty programs.

3. Public Goods Working Group
- Total Budget: $343,480 USDC and 23 ETH
- Allocation:
- Builder Grants: $80,000 and 23 ETH
- Giveth Round Partnership: $50,000
- Strategic Grants: $160,000
- Event Support: $22,000
- Discretionary Funds: $31,480
This budget aims to support builders, strategic projects within the Ethereum ecosystem, and public goods events, ensuring the growth and sustainability of public goods initiatives.
