eth.limo Q1 2026 - Update
-
Released our dweb-proxy-api as a local gateway that can be run by anyone to provide full OS/network level ENS resolution for dWebsites. This includes full DNS-over-HTTPS support and contains a veritable swiss army knife of various dWeb tools.
-
In Febuary we learned that Verizon wireless DNS began blocking all eth.limo domains. After much back and forth with Verizon we became aware that the eth.limo domain was erroneously included in the Infoblox threat intelligence feed ingested by VZW for DNS filtering purposes. We were able to successfully petition Infoblox for removal and resolution was restored.

v1 release of ens-hooks. This is an alpha stage, experimental implementation of contenthash encoding/decoding for ERC-8121 hooks for retrieving RFC-2397 data URI strings suitable for serving web content. Our current implementation allows for the encoding and storing arbitrary content (HTML, plain text, binaries like images). The contenthash encoding points to a function call on an arbitrary second contract which contains on-chain data or a CCIP read lookup to the data to be served by a web gateway. This design specifically chose to use ERC-8121 to add a level of indirection to content retrieval for performance reasons, compared to a naive implementation of contenthash encoding of RFC-2797 directly.

Production support for DataURI & DataURL via ERC-8121 hooks - a limited scope reference implementation of ENSIP-TBD for prototyping future contenthash enhancements. Thank you @Premm.eth for writing this draft ENSIP and working with our team. This feature enables fully on-chain dwebsites. While production support is enabled for eth.limo/eth.link, the protocodes used are placeholders, and this is still considered to be experimental, pending acceptance of ERC-8121 and ENSIP-TBD. dWeb Ecosystem Highlights
Fileverse’s Walkaway leverages its ENS domain as an alternative access layer for users to independently retrieve their data. Walkaway enables users to recover their documents and spreadsheets, even if the dDocs or dSheets application goes offline or disappears.

ETHMumbai Built a dWebsite featuring planned conference talks and activities, showcasing how ENS dWebsites can be leveraged for builder events. The ETHMumbai app is a static site pinned to IPFS with its hash stored in a Safe smart contract and served through the eth.limo gateway. https://ethmumbai.eth.limo
@gregskril from ENS Labs gave an excellent talk at ETHDenver on building dWebsites leveraging Omnipin and using gateways like eth.limo to access the content.
