Following the successful conclusion of EP 6.10, the Meta-governance stewards have approved a retroactive grant for the three teams that developed custom voting interfaces for the SPP2 selection process.
Background
The SPP2 vote used ranked choice with Copeland method tabulation, which was a new vote counting method not used before by the ENS DAO. The inclusion of two budgets in the system with the additional requirements set out by EP 6.5 created the need for custom voting UIs for voting and viewing results.
In April and May 2025, three teams built production-ready voting interfaces at their own expense, making it possible for the DAO to use this new methodology for Season Two of the SPP.
Team Contributions
Blockful developed spp.vote, a complete desktop voting interface that implemented the full Copeland ranking system.
Lighthouse Labs extended their existing governance client to support SPP2 voting mechanics, providing mobile-first access and developing an open-source Copeland results calculation library.
Agora created comprehensive real-time Copeland score tracking at agora.ensdao.org, providing delegate analytics and transparency throughout the voting period.
Decision Process
This retroactive grant was approved by the ENS DAO Meta-governance stewards following established procedures for discretionary funding decisions. Alex Netto @netto.eth recused himself due to his leadership role at Blockful, with Alex Van de Sande @AvsA serving as the third steward alongside @5pence.eth and @daostrat.eth.
Grant Structure
Each team will receive 20,000 USDC, totaling 60,000 from the Meta-governance discretionary budget. Transaction details will be recorded in the public ENS Ledger for full transparency.
The Meta-governance stewards thank Blockful, Lighthouse Labs, and Agora for their exceptional contributions to ENS governance infrastructure.
