ENS DAO Term 6 Dashboard
The ENS DAO Term 6 Dashboard is a comprehensive guide to ENS DAO’s governance and activities. It includes key resources such as the ENS DAO Constitution, meeting schedules via the ENS DAO Calendar, and updates through the bi-weekly ENS DAO Newsletter.
The dashboard outlines proposal processes, thresholds for social and executable proposals, governance environments, working group schedules, and details on Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for compensated tasks. It aims to enhance transparency, understanding, and participation within the ENS ecosystem.

About Proposals
Proposals are how changes are made to the DAO’s status quo. They can be submitted by anyone meeting the required $ENS thresholds and are voted on by delegates based on their token holdings. If a proposal reaches quorum and passes, it is ratified and implemented.
Proposal Thresholds:
- 10k ENS: Required for a social proposal — an agreement of the DAO on matters that cannot be enforced on-chain.
- 100k ENS: Required for an executable proposal — involves smart contract operations executed by DAO-controlled accounts.

ENS has partnered with Linea to launch Namechain, leveraging Linea’s Type 2 zkEVM for scalability, cost efficiency, and Ethereum compatibility. ENS on L2 will enhance decentralized naming, profiles, and hosting. Read more.

ENS Labs Partners with dRPC for CCIP Read Gateways
ENS Labs is teaming up with dRPC to operate trustless CCIP Read gateways, crucial for lowering gas fees and enhancing reliability as ENS transitions to Namechain. These gateways will be globally distributed, decentralized, and privacy-focused.
The partnership includes a pay-as-you-go model, cross-checked results, and nodes running for 90+ chains. ENS Labs will initially fund the setup and operations, with the DAO potentially funding directly in the future.
Launch Date: February 2025

Updating IPFS Configurations for ENS: Planetable.eth
Planetable.eth has provided guidance on updating IPFS configurations for ENS resolution following recent changes by Cloudflare. Previously, Cloudflare offered free gateway services for Ethereum and IPFS, but as of 2025, these services are no longer available.

ENS Public Goods Builders Grant: Coh3rence
Coh3rence has announced their selection by the ENS DAO Public Goods Builder Grants program to deliver their first course on Regenerative Governance. The initiative aligns with their vision for 2025, which they have declared as the year of #ReGov.

DAO Security Report: Vulnerabilities and Mitigating Controls
A comprehensive analysis of DAO security vulnerabilities and practical controls has been published, funded by the Ethereum ESP grants program and developed in collaboration with Tally XYZ and ENS DAO Service Provider @ethlimo.eth. The report, titled “State of DAO Security: Vulnerabilities & Applicable Controls,” is open-source, project-agnostic, and non-prescriptive.
The research explores common vulnerabilities and provides actionable insights to help DAOs strengthen their security posture.

AI Agent on ENS & IPFS: Powered by EIP-1577
AIWS, the autonomous onchain agent network built on Filecoin, has announced the launch of an AI agent running entirely on ENS and IPFS using EIP-1577. This innovative approach enables IPFS checksum verification of AI metadata and prompts, providing sovereign onchain identity for AI.

The ENS DAO is exploring a significant Endowment expansion led by karpatkey. Key proposals include:
- Increase: Add 5,000 ETH for yield-generating opportunities.
- Optimization: Adjust fee accrual to 25 days.
- Goal: Ensure self-sufficiency through higher earnings.

Coinbase’s Role in Governance
Agora are considering ways to unlock ENS Delegations held by Coinbase to increase governance participation—proposed solutions include an upgrade to the ENS Governor followed by a delegate race.

Ecosystem
The Ecosystem Working Group strengthens the ENS Protocol by facilitating developer relations, identifying and funding high-potential projects that enhance ENS, and supporting ENS-aligned initiatives.

ENS Labs Updates
ENS Labs is catching up from the recent break and addressing several key tasks. The team is focused on fixing bugs in the manager app and preparing it for ENS v2, currently in the design phase, to streamline future development.
Progress is being made on the ENS v2 contracts, and plans for 2025 events are underway, starting with ETH Denver. Additionally, a bug in Dune and Google Data Studio, which is causing a spike in reported revenue, is expected to be resolved imminently.
Ethereum Name Serive Improvement Proposals (ENSIP) — Updates
The ENSIP GitHub repository is available for review at ENS Improvement Proposals. Community members are encouraged to provide feedback or get involved by reaching out, such as to @Premm.eth on X. Looking ahead, the focus is on improving the ENSIP process throughout 2025, particularly with the implementation of ENSIP 19.
Strengthening ENS Metadata Standards and Ecosystem Integration
Work is underway to establish a metadata standard for creating a registry of agents. The operatorlabs/manifest GitHub repository outlines a lightweight standard for defining AI agent identities across platforms, and developers are invited to provide feedback.
Collaborations with projects and launchpads, such as pump.fun, aim to ensure metadata is automatically included in projects created on these platforms.
Web3j Update by Nischal Sharma
Nischal Sharma from Web3j shared an update on the Ethereum Name Service - Web3j integration. He has requested feedback and a merge for a pull request adding Web3j code samples, authored by NickSneo. The PR is currently pending review by Greg: Added web3j code samples - Pull Request #364.

The Public Goods Working Group supports the Ethereum ecosystem by identifying and funding open-source development.

Public Goods Shares Plans for 2025
The Working Group plans to expand and refine the Builder Grants platform launched last year. Feedback collected from users is continuously shared with the BG team to implement improvements, including grants for teams needing significant funding. Efforts are underway to establish a cadence for reviewing submissions, as seasons are no longer in use.
Large Grantee Updates: Gashawk.io
Presented by Daniel Hannum, Daniel Pfeffer, and Sohan Jagtap, Gashawk.io received a large grant in Q3 and completed its final milestones in December.
- Blob-Based Execution Services: Gashawk.io offers efficient onchain posting of call data or blobs, enabling Layer 2 sequencer operators to improve network efficiency as blob demand increases.
- Paymaster Service: Gashawk has developed a Paymaster service (currently demoing on Sepolia) to simplify transaction initiation. Previously, users needed ETH to cover costs; now, smart contract wallets can initiate transactions without holding the native token.
