  • Pushing forward on all things ENS v2 aka Namechain related
    • Smart contracts
    • Re-imagining how manager app works
  • Conducting 2025 planning to include hiring

4. Open space for service providers

Unruggable @Premm.eth & @clowes.eth

  • ENS good for more than just identity based data; e.g. developer score, onchain balance, voting power
  • Want distinct from user data to make queryable
  • Put additional guards on call data that enforces extra restraints
  • Universal resolver that knows whether to decode extra restraints, prevent others from faking data; separation from user records and external records
    • Unruggable records associated with an ENS distinct from just name data
  • More info in this ENSIP: ENSIP-ideas/ENSIPS/ensip-TBD-6.md at main · nxt3d/ENSIP-ideas · GitHub
    • This ENSIP introduces Hooks, a new ENS resolution method that enables the secure resolution of onchain data through ENS records. For example, Hooks make it possible to securely resolve the number of ENS token votes delegated to an ENS profile via a specialized text record
  • Demo here: GitHub - unruggable-labs/hooks-demo
  • “Resolver specific protocols”: Idea is that the future of ENS is horizontally scaled, e.g. BNS is a Base specific protocol for ENS data
    • Make data that can’t be spoofed but are under an ENS: what user says about themselves (ENS) as opposed to what data says about a user (scores)
  • Discussion around use cases when applied with zk tech

@alextnetto.eth and Lucas from Blockful presenting https://ens.rent

  • Announcement: x.com
  • Platform for renting and listing ENS domains. Choose whether you want to rent a domain or list your domains for others to rent
  • tl/dr: Monetize domains not using
  • Contract relies on having manager and owner role separate; user can rent the manager role
    • Once name rented can’t take back control until rental period over
  • @cap: Recommend using the word ‘lease’ to avoid confusion over renting subnames
  • Repo: GitHub - blockful-io/ens-rent-contracts
  • Result of hackathon project

5. Weekly ENSIP Update

6. Open Space for Additional Topics

  • This is the final call of 2024
  • @slobo.eth: Thanks for a very productive year, amazing to see all the innovations that occurred!
  • @clowes.eth: Posted this tweet, please give a read: x.com
