:classical_building: Term 5 Proposals

December 2024

Executable Proposals:

  1. [5.27] [Executable] Revoke the DAO’s Ability to Upgrade the Name Wrapper
This proposal seeks to mitigate a vulnerability in the ENS Name Wrapper by revoking the DAO’s ability to upgrade the contract, while preserving control over metadata updates, through deploying a new metadata proxy and relinquishing admin ownership over the Name Wrapper.

  2. [EP 5.28] [Executable] Reimbursement of eth.limo’s ongoing legal fees
This proposal seeks to reimburse eth.limo for $240,632.38 in ongoing legal fees incurred while operating the eth.limo/eth.link gateway services, which are critical for ENS infrastructure and public utility.

  3. [EP 5.29] [Executable] Funding request for Unruggable to build and operate a network of gateways supporting the rollout of ENSIP-19: EVM-chain Reverse Resolution
This proposal requests funding for Unruggable to build and operate a network of gateways supporting the rollout of ENSIP-19, enabling EVM-chain reverse resolution for ENS.

About Proposals

Proposals are the means by which changes are made to the status quo. There are two types of proposals:

  1. Social Proposals: Offchain proposals seeking the DAO’s agreement on social considerations that cannot be enforced onchain.
  2. Executable Proposals: Onchain proposals that execute code related to the ENS Protocol and ENS DAO smart contracts, as voted on by the DAO.

Proposal Threshold: A minimum of 10k $ENS is required to submit social proposals, while 100k $ENS is needed for executable proposals.

Thanks @estmcmxci appreciate you putting this together. I am looking forward to joining the team in my new role.

One thing I wanted to note: my ENS is sovereignsignal.eth not sov.eth as shown. Maybe someday sov.eth will be mine but, so far, it has proven elusive.

Thanks!
