3. Path forward on Working Group elections for Term 7

• The goal is to move the DAO out of stagnation and provide clarity on the next steps for Working Group elections
• A timeline is proposed:
  • Forum discussion for 7 days.
  • Social proposal on May 19.
  • Structural deadline for May 31 to have the WG restructure proposal passed.
  • Nominations for term seven start on June 1.
• The proposal aims to solve problems discussed in the last MetaGov call.
• Looking for input on the timeline and the Working Group’s operations.
• Discussion on whether a 6-month or a 1-year term is better.
• The ENS x AI group is mentioned as an option for Ecosystem calls.
• The importance for neutral space for SPs and ecosystem projects to present.
• Funding and grants concerns expressed for both PG and Ecosystem-related projects.

4. [Temp Check] Working Group Restructure

• Discussion on James’s proposal for restructuring.
• Concern expressed over the status quo, leading to a non-functional DAO.
• Suggestion to eliminate WGs and keep the MetaGov WG with a defined mandate.
• Suggestion to continue with a PG and Ecosystem working group to maintain momentum within the ENS ecosystem.

5. [Temp Check] Expanding the ENS Foundation Board

• Question about the scope of the operational/governance role within the foundation and how it will interact with the MetaGov WG.
• Katherine is working to revise the foundation proposal, taking feedback into account.
• The liaison role mentioned in the proposal is similar to roles in other DAOs.
• The liaison could connect with external parties.
• A fully fleshed-out plan for the foundation is important and shouldn’t be rushed.
• Mental model:
  • MetaGov WG is an onchain representation of the DAO
  • Foundation would be a real-world representation of the DAO.
• Moving governance inside a foundation model can have its own challenges.
• Thomas will write a temp check for the next iteration of the working group, possibly with James.
