This will be the official thread for nominations for the Service Provider streams. If you want to participate, reply here with the following information. Delete the bits in italic and replace with your own response. You can post a draft and edit all the information later, until the end of nomination window.
Name and website of Provider: mydevshop.eth
Must be an ENS name. This will also be the receiving address. Make sure it’s an address you control and both the address and the name itself are safely managed. Give preference to a hardware wallet or Safe multisite. DO NOT POST AN EXCHANGE ADDRESS. You don’t need to have it all sorted now, but if you are selected, make sure to get it ready by January. Website doesn’t need to be same as the ENS name.
Name of main point of contact: bob.mydevshop.eth
Also must be an ENS name. While it’s not required we encourage to have your team members and any address that is a secondary beneficiary of the main stream also have ENS addresses
What do you want to build on ENS?
List projects you want to build or are already building for ENS and how they will benefit the growth and adoption of ENS worldwide. This is the most important bit, so be bold, and tell us our vision. Remember we are funding teams, not projects: we want teams to have a goal, but also have freedom to build more things because they think it’s important for the ecosystem, even if we hadn’t thought of them before. The projects here listed serve to give an indication of what we can expect you’ll be focusing and help delegates judge on your vision for ENS.*
Past experience working on ENS:
Why should YOU be picked? List all your past accomplishments on the ENS or Ethereum space and what sort of thing you have already build. Show us how you are uniquely positioned to build something in a way that sets you apart from other teams
Size of team and commitment
Tell us how many people will be working directly on this project and what is your overall commitment. Is it something you and a buddy will be doing part time after work? Is it something you have 10 devs working day and night commited to nothing else but to breath names?
Links to documents with further information
Use this to post a link to a presentation or a pitch deck with more information. It can be your portfolio of past work or a detailed roadmap of your future work.
Conflict of interest statement
Stewards are supposed to oversee and manage Service providers, so being elected to both might require special circumstances. Also it’s in the best interest of the DAO to have a diverse set of developer and not be just paying the same people in multiple ways. List any potential conflicts of interest or participation in any project that is currently receiving from the DAO or is a candidate for it. This lists includes (but is not limited to) having any of your team members be a Steward candidate, also being a member of another team who is a candidate for the same stream, having a compensated position at ENS Labs, Karpatkey or any other project who is currently receiving funds from the DAO. Explain how you intend to resolve the conflict if you (and the other party) is selected and how you will have a separation of concerns. Notice that having these (potential) conflicts does not disqualify you from being a candidate, but they must be disclosed, assessed by the delegates voting and addressed if considered an issue. Failing to disclose a conflict or not following through with your proposed solution can lead to a candidacy or even a stream be cancelled.
10k Endorsement link: To prevent spam we require the submitter to provide proof that they have at least 10k votes in their favor. This can be done in any of the following manners:
- If your main address or your point of contact address has at least 10k delegated or owned ENS then write “self-endorsement”. You have completed the requirement. OR…
- Post a link to a social media post or a thread in this forum or a signed ethereum message with an endorsement from a delegate with at least 10k delegated ENS (must have some sort of verification of ownership of account). OR…
- Go to
nominations.ens.ethens-streams.eth Snapshot and create a new proposal with title “Nominate example.eth to Service Provider Stream” and options being “For / Against / Abstain”. That proposal must have at least 10k votes by December 1st for your nomination to be valid.
Budget Requested: Minimum $100,000/y to $1,000,000/y, at $100,000 Increments. Notice this is a per annum not a total. The stream can be longer than a year (if the governance decides to postpone the next election for a bit) or shorter (if governance decides the provider isn’t doing a proper job)
Other notes (optional field) If you intend to stop the work at a specific date or any other comments you want to make on the proposal
